DIGITALIS MERTONENSIS
Grower Notes:
Digitalis x mertonensis is commonly referred to as Strawberry Foxglove. This showy herbaceous perennial features tall stalks of pendulous clusters of attractive coppery rose bell-shaped flowers that appear in early summer. Flowers are a hummingbird magnet! This true perennial foxglove is a cross between D. purpurea (biennial) and D. grandiflora (perennial) with larger flowers than either parent.
Strawberry Foxglove is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in full sun to partial shade in evenly moist, well-draining soils. Cutting plants back to their base after flowering, may bring a second round of blooms. Word of Caution: Leaves are highly toxic.
